Tevye tries to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. The strong-willed actions of his three older daughters — Tzeitel (Lena Timrott), Hodel (Alicia Nicole Andreatta-Jacques) and Chava (Elizabeth Martinie) — who choose their own husbands moves the family further away from the customs of his faith.
